Hello and welcome to
THE CURIOUS COUNSELLOR
If you have found your way to me, then you most likely have something on your mind or a problem that is troubling you.
Good on you for taking the first brave step towards looking into those concerns.
Mental Health… what a tricky topic.
It comes in so many different forms. Heavy emotions, relationship issues, family issues, unhappy thoughts, self-blame, addictions, depression, anxiety or just feeling lost.
So, what can we do for those struggling people? We can connect them with someone who can sit and listen to them. Everyone has the need for connection, to be seen and heard for who they are.
As a professional counsellor with my own lived experience of not feeling connected, seen or heard, I have some understanding of these struggles. I eventually reached out for help and found someone that I could talk to.
I’d like to pass on a similar experience to you. Together we can explore who you are and give you the space to be seen and heard for who you really are.
My counselling approach starts with listening to your concerns and making sure you are safe. Then we can work together on finding ways to understand more about what is going on for you.
I listen to your story and ask questions in a way that is compassionate, non-judgmental, safe and confidential.
Why choose a counsellors and not a psychologist?
Counsellors are qualified professionals. We are non clinical and do not diagnose. This means we are more interested in you, the person and helping you understand who you are and what your life story is.
In many cases, a counsellor may be a better starting place. You do not need a GP referral to see a counsellor and they will usually be available and affordable.
